Colorado State University is hosting a planning meeting to develop a research-for-action project that focuses on the structure and processes of adaptive governance of rangeland natural resource use to support and promote resilient action by pastoral communities. The meeting will be organised at Colorado State University in January 27-31, 2015, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. Representatives from Kenya, Mongolia and the US Great Plains will come together to find locally compatible solutions through institutions to cope with the negative consequences of rangeland changes to build sustainable futures.
We will nominate four people from Mongolia, including NGOs, governments, practitioners (herder, group leader) and academic social science researchers to participate in this meeting. The participants will collaborate in designing innovative actions in managing rangelands under environmental and social change that can be scaled to regional-level planning.
The candidates should have relevant research, professional and practical background and be fluent in English. Upon arrival from the CSU they should be able to commit certain time to contribute in proposal development until March 30, 2015.
We are inviting interested people to submit their letter of interest to participate in this meeting and along with the CV provide a short description of your reasoning why you can be a good candidate and how you might contribute to this design process. If the proposal is funded, they will have the opportunity to continue to work with the team on implementation.
