Eligibility to apply

–      Applicants must be enrolled at National University of Mongolia at the time of application and have completed at least two semesters of studies at the time of application.

–      Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.

–      All students for whom English is a second or other language and who wish to study at Akita International University must demonstrate that their English language is at a level which is required by AIU.  Acceptable minimum qualifications are shown below.

Acceptable Certificates

(IELTS)- 5.0 or above

PBT TOEFL 500 or above, IBT 61 or above

TOEIC 630 or above

 Submission of Required documents for AIU admission

– Official Academic Transcript from Home University (in English)

– Personal Statement of Purpose (300 – 500 words)

– International Student Reference Form (Please download here)

– Proof of English Proficiency

– Passport copy

– Two ID Photos(One for AIU admission and another one for visa application): If the photos are not clear, they may request that applicants send additional photos. Please note the following when submitting photos:

  • * Photos must be passport-size (3 cm x 4 cm) and clearly show your head and shoulders.
    * A personal snapshot is not acceptable; this must be an official ID photo.
    * Photos in which you are wearing sunglasses and/or a cap/hat are not acceptable.
    * Photos which are printed on a color printer are not acceptable.

 Please submit following documents to Student Affairs Office (NUM main building, room 219) before March 19.
