New York City is witnessing substantial growth in the field of new manufacturing – the convergence between the physical and digital world, together with the rise of technologies such as 3D printing that
enable high-tech products to be made in urban environments.
To remain on the forefront of this movement, the New York City Economic Development Corporation invites innovative companies from around the world to participate in World to NYC: Global Industry Challenge, a unique and highly
selective program running from May 12-14 in New York City .
We are looking for companies based outside NYC that are:
Creating high-tech products such as connected devices in urban environments, or facilitating their production through new manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing and related services; At the cutting-edge of global innovation, and prepared to share best practices with leading companies, entrepreneurs and investors in NYC; and actively considering establishing a NYC presence.
Invited companies will receive:
- Three days of planned activities and workshops with industry leaders; Networking and social opportunities with potential partners and fellow invited guests;
- Site visits and company introductions; and
- Practical workshops geared towards expanding businesses into NYC.
Previous participants have described World to NYC as a “wonderful program with very strong organization”; a “huge success in helping all of us all get a grasp of what it takes to move to NYC”; and emphasized how the program provides “practical and strategic assistance to expand to NYC”.
