Mongolia is one of the world’s largest Manchurology centers, preserving a rich corpus derived from the Manchu language and script. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of preparing national and foreign experts who study the legacy of Manchu sources, archives, and official documents, National University of Mongolia (NUM) will host the First International Conference “Manchu Studies – 2024” in Ulaanbaatar on August 23-25, 2024.
Objectives of Conference: The primary goal of the “Manchu Studies – 2024” international conference is to broaden the collaboration of national and foreign scholars and researchers studying Manchu language, script, culture, and history, to negotiate the challenges that Manchurology faces, and to share and present the findings of latest research results.
Importance of Conference: This international conference will serve as a bridge for Manchurologists from various countries to connect and collaborate, as well as an opportunity to learn about the corpus of Manchurian books preserved in Mongolia, and will make significant contributions to expanding the boundaries of Manchurology.
Scope of the Conference: Manchu studies (language and script, culture, history, ethnography, literature, arts, and so on)
