Call for Applications: STUDENT MOBILITY TO THE UNIVERSITY OF CATANIA (ITALY) WITHIN THE LEGO-TNE PROJECT

The National University of Mongolia (NUM, the sending university) is pleased to announce a call for applications for student mobility to the University of Catania (UniCT, the host university), Italy, within the framework of the LEGO-TNE Project.

LEGO-TNE Project aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of international mobility and education between HEIs in Italy and East Asia, maximizing each partner’s educational and scientific excellences and synergizing them to enhance their impact both internationally and on local communities and territories.

Mobility Opportunity Details

Requirements:

  • Must be full-time master or doctoral student at the National University of Mongolia;
  • Field of study must be in environment and/or electronics engineering field (consistent with the research priorities and educational objectives of the host department);
  • An applicant must have a supervisor from the NUM and a researh topic must be identified
  • Good academic standing (minimum GPA: 3.0 or equivalent);
  • Demonstrated interest in international exchange and academic development;
  • Language proficiency in English (Upper Intermediate B2 or above)

Host institution: University of Catania, Italy

Department of the host institution: Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture

Activity type: Student mobility for internship/research activities

Duration: Master’s student upto 60 days, doctoral students upto 30 days, and mobility must be done no later than 31 March 2026

Amount of funding: The amount disbursed will be €700 per month as individual support and a further €1,200 as a travel contribution.

Application Documents

Applicants should submit the following in English:

  • Application form
  • CV, detailing academic qualifications, extra-curricular activities, and research experience
  • Transcript of Records (official academic transcript issued by NUM, for newly enrolled students, a transcript from previous studies is required)
  • Certificate of Enrollment (official document from NUM confirming active student status)
  • Language Proficiency. Copies of official language certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL
  • Motivation Letter (1–2 pages, outlining master/doctoral research topic, name of the supervisor, his/her full name, affiliation, reasons for applying, research activities will be conducted in UniCT, and expected benefits of mobility, etc)
  • Copy of Passport
