The lecture will be held at 9.30am on April 3, 2018 at the lecture hall of NUM building no.5.

Digital technologies have spread rapidly in much of the world. These technologies have boosted growth, expanded opportunities, and improved service delivery. Yet their aggregate impact has fallen short and is unevenly distributed. For Mongolia, the digital world holds unrivaled potential—giving its citizens and entrepreneurs access to knowledge and market that is unimaginable in the physical world. How can Mongolia maximize the benefits of digital revolution while safeguarding its economy from the risks posed by digital transformation? The answer lies in adopting a two-track approach. First, to make digital technologies universally accessible, affordable, open and safe. Second, to get the most out of the digital revolution, Mongolia needs to work on the “analog foundation”—by strengthening regulations that ensure competition among businesses, by adapting workers’ skills to the demands of the new economy, and by ensuring that institutions are accountable.
