NUM Leadership Conference – Capacity Development for Transformation

The seventh international NUM Leadership Conference – Capacity Development for Transformation under the topic of “The role of human capacity development in the Public Sector – how to build a positive business environment” is going to be held at the Novotel Hotel in Mongolia on October 10th 2018.

The conference is organized annually by the Department of Public Administration, SIRPA, NUM, with the support of the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ). This year it is co-hosted by the Civil Service Council of Mongolia, the Speyer Research Institute of Germany, and German University of Administrative Sciences, Speyer, Germany and the University of Alaska, Anchorage, USA.

Keynote speech and workshops invite participants to exchange ideas and develop visions of how to build a positive business environment.

  • Prof. Dr. Catherine Kardava, Director of the National Civil Service Bureau, Tbilisi, Georgia, “Lessons learned from the public sector reform in Georgia, especially with respect to economic development on national and local level
  • Prof. Dr. Burmaa Natsag, Head of DPA, School of International Relations and Public Administration, NUM “Stakeholder roles and responsibilities in social and economic dialogues formats – The example of the Sustainable Development Partnership

The participants can choose between the following series of workshops dealing with “The Public Sector and the positive business environment – Success factors” and “The Do’s and Dont’s of Practical Public Sector Reform”. The first series include the workshops “Governance and Transparency as corner stones of positive business environment”, “The relevance of judicial system for a positive business environment” and “The role of the media for the positive business environment.” To learn more about “The Do’s and Dont’s of Practical Public Sector Reform” the other series of workshops will provide results from different countries including United States, Germany, Japan, Georgia and Mongolia.

Various activities for getting to know each other complete the program. The international experts are going to make a valuable contribution to Public Sector Reforms by focusing on human capacity development.
