University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP), founded in 1993, is a voluntary association of government and non-government representatives of the higher education sector in the region. The organization is responsible for overseeing UMAP Exchange Program. The UMAP Exchange Program involves the development and implementation of university student and staff exchanges which are consistent with the UMAP principles. Through increased mobility of university students and staff, UMAP aims to achieve enhanced international understanding.
UMAP holds the International Conference every two years either by International Secretariat or by UMAP Chair Country. This Conference is designed to launch a series of discussions concerning the challenges and trend of cross-cultural exchange in the era of globalization. UMAP IS aims to promote effective interaction among scholars, academics, researchers, students, and practitioners in the areas of higher education and exchange programs as well as to explore the possibilities of facilitating communication and exchange across cultures.

[Formatting Submissions]
Presenters are required to submit an abstract for initial acceptance by 30 June 2012. All abstract must be written in English on A4-size sheets (typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, single spaced). All papers must be submitted electronically in both MS Word & PDF format. The first page should include the following information:
A: Title of the paper
B: Abstract (not more than 500-words)
C: Keywords
D: Name of the author(s), affiliation, mailing address, zip code, telephone and fax number, and email address
E: Bio data of the author(s) (up to 100 words each)

Notification of abstract acceptance will be announced by 1 August, 2012.
[Paper selection]
All abstracts will undergo a peer and blind review process by the program committee organized by the UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific) International Secretariat. Selected papers, decided on the basis of academic quality (theoretical, methodological, new empirical evidence), may be published in a themed ISBN hard copy volume. Papers should be approximately 2,000-3,000 words in length.
Full papers are due on 3 September, 2012.
