The representatives of Kookmin University, President Hong Jae Yim, Dean College of Law Dong Ki Lee, Director of the Korean Law Education Center Jeon Won Park, and Professor Donghoon Kim were invited to participate in the 80th-anniversary of the National University of Mongolia.
On October 6, 2022, B. Ochirkhuyag, President of NUM, B. Amarsanaa, Dean of the School of Law, A. Byambajargal, Legal Policy Adviser to the President of Mongolia, associate professor and D.Badamdash, Head of the Department of Cooperation, welcomed to meet representatives of Kookmin University and exchanged ideas on further cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the long-term stable efficient cooperation in the field of law and expressed their interest in continuing and expanding their cooperation in new fields. On the part of Kookmin University, expressed their full potential to cooperate in the field of information technology, design, and automation and agreed to work in search of opportunities to implement joint projects and programs in this direction. They also agreed to pay attention promoting scientific and cultural exchanges between the two countries through universities.
Furthermore, on October 6, 2022, The President of Kookmin University, Hong Jae Yim, gave a presentation to the students of the Korean Legal Education Center of NUM School of Law, as well as master and doctoral students, about machine automation and the project being implemented in cooperation with the United States in this field.
In 2007, NUM School of Law signed a cooperation agreement with the Kookmin University School of Law. After that, in 2011, a cooperation agreement was signed between the School of Law of Kookmin University and the NUM School of Law, and in October 2011, the “Korean Legal Education Center” was established at the NUM School of Law. NUM conducts Korean law and Korean language courses in parallel with the curriculum of NUM School of Law. In collaboration with the National Legal Institute of Mongolia, Mongolian lawyers were trained in Korean law and founded the Forum of Mongolian and Korean legal experts. Also, the “APRO FJ” scholarship fund provides scholarships to 10 students every year within cooperation. In 2014, The President of Kookmin University, Hong Jae Yim, visited NUM and signed a cooperation agreement. As a result, now it’s possible to exchange up to 8 students per year.
