– Japanese language program
Japanese Language Program, offered by the Center for Japanese Language at Waseda University, is a one-year program to study Japanese language intensively. The classes have Waseda International students from all over the world. More than 360 Waseda-student volunteers join the Japanese classes to give extra language support. – The School of International Liberal Studies (SILS)
One-Year Exchange Program Information for 2013-2014
SILS’ Background
Officially opened in April 2004, SILS evolved from the International Division Program, a course of study originally offered to undergraduate students by the Center for International Education.
The majority of SILS courses deal with topics in Asian culture, history, society, politics, economy, geography, arts, and literature. With the exception of Japanese language classes, all courses are conducted in English. Japanese language courses range in level from elementary to pre-advanced. Exchange students in the SILS have the status “bilateral student (Study Plan 3, SP3)”.
Language of Instruction
Japanese Language courses conducted in Japanese.
SILS lecture courses are conducted in English.
Open Education Center courses are conducted in Japanese.
