“Best Paper Awards” was successfully held

The Department of Public Administration successfully organized the “Best Paper Awards”, an academic initiative founded and sponsored by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. John Duffy, Professor at the School of Business and Public Policy, University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), USA.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. John Duffy has over 30 years of experience serving in senior executive positions within Alaska’s local government. Since 2017, he has been serving as a guest professor at the Department of Public Administration, School of Political Science, International Relations and Public Administration (SPSIRPA), National University of Mongolia (NUM).

Over the years, Prof. Duffy has contributed significantly to academic and institutional collaboration between UAA and NUM, helping to establish, strengthen, and expand partnerships between the two institutions.

The Best Paper Awards were organized with the aim of enhancing the academic writing and research skills of doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s students in the public administration program at NUM. The event has been made possible through the generous personal sponsorship of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. John Duffy.

We are proudly announcing this year’s awardees:

  • Ph.D candidates:
    • First Place ($250): Otgontseren Purevsuren for the “Challenges of Recruitment Process of Civil Servants in Mongolia” research paper
    • Second place ($100): Tuguldur Badral for the “Implementation of Civil Servants’s Performance Appraisal Legislation in Mongolia: An Implementation Gap Analysis in the Post-Socialist Transition” research paper
    • Third place ($50): Bumnaran Batkhuu for the “Human Resource Management in Public Administration Organization” research paper

    • First Place ($250): Battuvshin Urtnasan for the “Some Approaches to Improving Human Resource Auditing in Mongolia’s Civil Service” research paper
    • Second place ($100): Chantsal Dorjsuren for the “Women’s Participation in Decision Making” research paper
  • Bachelor students:
    • First Place ($250): Gereltnomin Otgonbayar for the “The Necessity and Opportunity for a “One Health” Approach to Strengthen Adaptive Capacity to Dzud Disasters in Mongolia”  research paper
    • Second Place ($100): Zaya Enkhjargal, Azbayar Zorigoo, Bayasgalan Bat-Ayush, and Gunj-Erdene Oyunbold for the “An Analytical Study of Ethical Misconduct Cases among Civil Servants” research paper
    • Third Place ($50): Anu Dalaisaikhan, Gereltnomin Otgonbayar, and Khuslen Batgerel for the The Application of Artificial Intelligence and Indicators of Public Readiness in the Health Sector” research paper
    • Honorable mention ($50): Anudari Chuluuntsetseg for the “An Application of Digital Service and Artificial Intelligence Against Corruption” research paper

During the Best Paper Award Ceremony, the first-place winners from the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs had the opportunity to present their research findings to the audience.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. John Duffy expressed that the quality of the research papers of the Public Administration Program students has been achieved at a high level, and even more, the Best Paper Awards will be annually organized in the coming years. We congratulate the Best Paper Awardees for their research results and wish our students all the best in the future.
