High-Level Advisor And Guest Speaker: Prof. Dr. Mike Hardy CMG OBE FRSA
Professor Mike Hardy is Executive Director of the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University. As an established thought leader in intercultural dialogue and cultural exchange, Mike led the British Government work on intercultural relations until 2011 with postings in Cairo, Jerusalem and Jakarta. He has experience of working in post-soviet societies in East Europe. Mike was awarded the OBE Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2001 for his work in the Middle East, and was appointed a Companion of Honour in the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, June 2010 for his work internationally in Intercultural Dialogue. Mike’s particular current interest is in intercultural dialogue and interpersonal trust, social cohesion, and the challenges of social innovation for inclusion. His latest work on ‘Unrealized Dialogue: Disconnects in a connect world’ will be published in 2016. Mike has recently joined the Board of Directors of the International Leadership Association, the global network for those who research, practice of teach leadership; he is a trustee of the 3Faiths Forum, a global interfaith NGO.
