Oidov Vaanchig, Chief Executive Officer of REHTUS Co.Ltd and Board Member of Mongolian Occupational Therapy Association, gave an interesting lecture on “Intercultural Competence: Conflict Reason and Its management” in the framework of “Conflict Resolution” to the students of School of International Relations and Public Administration, NUM on 6th of November, 2015 in English.
Oidov, one of our top students, graduated from the SIRPA, NUM in 2001, and earned a BA in Business Administration from the School of Management and Law of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.
Oidov started his lecture with an interesting discussion on his own experience of living abroad in USA, Russia, Great Britain, Switzerland and Korea. He further continued by stating how different cultures are the primary reason for conflicts as well as how to prevent and manage them by using real life examples which made it very easy to grasp, accessible and truly interesting to the students.
“When a course of action causes a friction between different cultures or relationship between different cultures, the cost is very high and the results are damaging. I hope, that this lecture and discussion with the students, who will be representing Mongolia in international arena, will produce a real outcome.” said V.Oidov.
The lecture contributed to the “Conflict Resolution” class by spreading knowledge to the students on how to handle and manage intercultural competence and also gave them hope and courage on further continuing their study. Senior teacher D. Oyunsuren, SIRPA, NUM have started to teach “Conflict Resolution” class fully in English- the first of its kind, starting this semester.
