Prof. Dr. Jan Ziekow, Director of German Research Institute for Public Administration will be awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa honorary degree of the School of International Relations and Public Administration (SIRPA) of the National University of Mongolia (NUM) for his extraordinary dedication and outstanding scientific contribution to the academic and institutional development of Department of Public Administration of SIRPA of NUM . The decision of the Academic Council was made on October 13, 2015. The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 5:00 pm at the 6th floor lecture hall, Building V of National University of Mongolia.
Prof. Dr. Jan Ziekow, born in Berlin (Germany), is currently the Director (CEO) of the German Research Institute for Public Administration (since2001). He is also Member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration(CEPA), President of the German Section of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, Head of the Institute for Regulatory Impact Assessment and Evaluation and Member of various parliamentary and Government-Commissions and Committees. As a Consultant for EU Commission, EU Parliament and various German and foreign governments. Prof. Ziekow works in the fields of transformations of the state, modernizationof the Public Sector, reform of local and ministerial administration, new forms of governance, public finance, sustainable development, better regulation, impact assessment and evaluation, e-Government, Public Private Partnerships and other forms of cooperation, civil society, public procurement, regulation of infrastructures, human resource management, constitutional and administrative law, civil service law, administrative procedure, administrative jurisdiction and others. He is Editor-in-Chief and Co-Editor of various journals.
