The Office of International and Public Affairs at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Korea, is planning to host Global Intern Program in Science and Technology for 2013. |

The primary objective of the Global Intern Program is to carry out research and provide training related to science and technology.
IPA has worked to organize an International Intern Program once a year, offering students from various countries the opportunity to participate in six weeks training course at GIST. This year, we are seeking highly qualified intern students for the Summer Semesters.
The International Intern Program is designed to provide knowledge and skills related to science and technology in the areas of Information and Communications, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechatronics, Environmental Science and Engineering, Life Sciences, Nanobio Materials and Engineering, Physics and Photon Science, and Medical System Engineering.
Details: |
– Participants of the Program will be assigned to a department laboratory and receive their research training and coursework under the supervision of the professor in charge of the laboratory. |

– Information regarding department labs and courses offered can be obtained from the GIST website (www.gist.ac.kr). Applicants should select from the participating laboratories in order of interest and fill in the application form ranking their interests in order of priority.
– Participants who successfully complete the Intern Program will receive a Certificate of Completion.
– Support for the participants
■ One-way airfare (economy class).
■ Dormitory accommodation (two persons per room).
■ Stipend of 450,000 Korean Won (approximately $400) |
■ Medical insurance during the Program period- Visa status: Please remember that you should obtain a C-3 visa when applying for a Korean visa.
