Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, November 13th 2017, NUM President, Dr. Tumurbaatar signed a partnership agreement between the National University of Mongolia and the University of Alaska, Anchorage. The agreement seeks to create joint research projects as well as regular professor and student exchanges. As Mongolia and Alaska share many similar challenges such as natural resource development, rural-urban divides and climate change; the agreement provides the basis to use the faculties and student bodies of both internationally recognized institutions to address these complex challenges confronting our societies.
President Dr. Tumurbaatar stated “We live in a time that requires us to collaborative with others to find innovative solutions. This agreement provides NUM with an additional path for enhancing our international efforts to find solutions to problems affecting not only Mongolia, but the entire world. I am very hopeful that this agreement between two like-minded universities will become a standard for others.”.
Prof.Dr. Burmaa Natsag remarked “We at the School of International Relations and Public Administration have been working with our colleague, Prof. Dr. John Duffy, of the University of Alaska, Anchorage, over the past year. He has provided lectures and participated in faculty discussions. It is clear Alaska and Mongolia have much in common and by working together we have the opportunity to bring out the best ideas to enhance both societies. This agreement also creates an additional path for NUM to broaden our international standing.”
The School of International Relations and Public Administration is the lead institution working to enhance Mongolia. We work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally to find the best ideas for Mongolia, put the ideas into practice and share our ideas with the international community.
