CALL FOR PAPERS

2026 Annual Meeting & Panels – October 2-3, 2026

Western Washington University, Bellingham, Washington

In honor of Prof. Emeritus Henry G. Schwarz, long-time professor of Mongolian Studies at Western Washington and past President of the Mongolia Society, The Mongolia Society particularly invites papers on his areas of research: the impact of globalization on Mongolia, ethnic minorities in Mongolia, ethnic Mongols in China, Buryats, and on Mongolian Studies collections in libraries around the world.

Also, in addition to papers on topics in general humanities, arts, education, and social sciences relevant to Mongolia, The Mongolia Society also invites papers on research projects that involve collaborations between Mongolian scholars and their colleagues abroad.

Abstracts for individual papers or organized panels should be submitted to the Mongolia Society no later than July 19, 2026.  The abstract must contain the paper title, be no more than 300 words, and include contact information (email address and telephone number). Presenters whose abstracts are accepted will have 20 minutes to present their paper. Please send your abstract to Susie Drost at monsoc@iu.edu.
