BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDY IN THE UK  2012-2013

Online applications are invited from Mongolian nationals who wish to study in the United Kingdom at postgraduate (Master) level for the next academic year, which starts in September/October 2012.

Through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Chevening Scholarships Programme the British Government invests in talented individuals with focused career plans, the potential to become influent leaders in their field and the desire to contribute to Mongolia’s future. The scholarships cover tuition fees, travel costs and living expenses.

A British Chevening Scholarship offers:

· access to high quality British education

· an opportunity to obtain a postgraduate Master’s qualification (MSc, MA, LLM, MBA)

· the stimulating experience of being part of a dynamic international community

Priority will be given to applicants who want to pursue studies in the following fields:

• Banking and Finance
• Climate Change Adaptation
• Engineering
• Human Rights
• International Law
• International Relations
• Media and Journalism
• Mining
• Public Administration

A successful candidate should

· be a Mongolian citizen at the time of applying for the award, and intend to return to Mongolia at the end of the period of study

·  already hold a good first degree

· have a track of record of excellence and achievement in their field

· be able to demonstrate that they have leadership potential

· have a minimum of three years work experience in their chosen career

· have good English language skills (a minimum IELTS score of 6.5. Some courses, eg law, now require an IELTS score of 7)

· have a clear idea about how their scholarship will benefit Mongolia on their return
